Every once in a while, I get a bee in my bonnet to do something crafty. With this project, as is often the case these days, Pinterest was the catalyst, and my daughter was the beneficiary. She had been playing kitchen a lot, so I decided to make her a stove. I really wanted to make it from as few purchased/new materials as possible. I did pretty well; the only things I ended up buying were:
- Red and silver spray paint
- Brads (what a great name for an object)
- Thin sheets of foam
Granted, I have a lot of existing supplies. I was also able to scrounge up some recyclables and such. Altogether, these items were:
- One copy paper box
- Duct Tape
- The clear plastic lid to a pack of notecards
- Paint marker
- Box cutter
- Cutting surface
I’ll let the pictures tell the story. The short version is: cut, paint, glue, assemble, tape, draw, present, play!
This burlap tote bag project from Jo Ann Fabrics looks adorable but I don’t think I’d want a burlap tote bag; it’s scratchy and that stuff sheds like the dickens~
Found a very intriguing pin on Pinterest. Had to try it myself, and did two in one night. Very easy, and actually looks like I thought it would. Success! New life for a beloved T-shirt that is so small I had no business wearing it as a T-shirt.
